2023 Impact Statement

2023: The Foundation refined its mission and partnerships while continuing to provide scholarships.
• Black History and Heart Health month event in Los Angeles, CA on 2/25/23: 120 hygiene bags each filled toiletry items (lotion, bar soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, lip balm, washcloth) as well as mask packets (50 count each), hand sanitizer, tissue packets, first aid kits, nail clippers and razors/shaving cream to benefit the homeless and other displaced individuals. Also provided snacks as well as gift cards for Black History bingo. Partnered with other nonprofits who provided socks, underwear, and toiletry items. Distribute health information and offered blood pressure and glucose screenings.
• Scholarship awarded to 3 college student for the 2023-24 scholastic year totaling $3000.
• Leapwood Elementary School in Carson, CA on 7/22/23 – Donation of 205 backpacks. Assisted with distribution of backpacks, school supplies and lunches.
• Christ Holiness Temple Church in St. Louis, MO on 7/22/23 – Donation of 48 backpacks for a back-to-school event that included school supplies donations and interactive games for the student attendees.
• Raymond Avenue Elementary School in Los Angeles, CA on 8/12/23: 135 backpacks and 25 teacher packs containing 700 pens, 400 pencils, 350 highlighters, 250 erasers, 250 sharpeners, 250 glue sticks, 250 scissors, 200 rolls of tape, 175 20-crayon packs, 165 composition books, 165 folders, 150 10-count packs of colored pencils, 50 10 -count markers, 75 spiral notebooks, 25 packets sticky notes and 20 5-inch binders. Donated books about scholarships as well as student planners.
• Community Health Resource Fair at Greater Zion Baptist Church in Houston, TX on 9/23/23: Provided health information on “Chronic Diseases Impacting Minority Communities”. Provided printed health information on high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer. Vaccinations for monkeypox, Covid, and pneumonia provided by the City of Houston.
• Health & Wellness event with Project Educate in Los Angeles, CA on 10/14/23: Personal hygiene supplies including 100 hygiene bags (lotion, bar soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, washcloth and nail clippers) , 50 hand sanitizers, and 10 boxes of tissue as well as provided lunch, snacks, beverages and gift cards for prizes.
• Donations of toiletry items (lotion, bar soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, washcloth and nail clippers) for 163 boxes for the homeless ministry for Park Windsor Baptist Church in Los Angeles, CA in November 2023.
• Supported the Detroit chapter of Liberians-In-Michigan to fund medical supplies and health information for a community resource mission to Liberia in early December 2023.
• Donation of monies and toys to the toy giveaway at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles, CA on 12/16/23: $400.

• Speakers for community fairs on multiple topics including community health, chronic diseases, women’s health, youth empowerment, positive body images for girls, and cybersecurity.
• Health screenings, health demonstrations, health information, masks and clothing/shoes on Skid Row.
• Vaccinations to individuals with limited healthcare access.
